Chongqing to Hold Fifth WCIFIT

The Fifth Western China International Fair for Investment and Trade (WCIFIT) is set to be hosted in Southwest China's Chongqing municipality from May 18 to 21, and the 2023 CCI-ILSTC International Cooperation Forum will be held on May 18.

Under the annual theme of“inland China opening-up and innovative development led by Digitization,” the 2023 fair will highlight the achievements of digital transformation and will feature themed activities and exhibitions.

Malaysia will be the guest country, and China's Sichuan and Gansu Provinces will be the guest provinces.

Thirteen pavilions under two themes of investment and trade as well as industry promotion will be set up in the themed exhibition area, which covers 180,000 square meters, increasing 20,000 square meters compared to the previous session. The exhibition will open to the public after 12:00 on May 18.

To date, 824 enterprises from 36 countries (or regions) and 26 Chinese provinces have signed up to participate. Allegro and OTTO will debut at the fair, FG 500 companies such as Suez, and industry giants in China such as PetroChina will participate. More than 50% of the exhibitors are from outside the municipality.

WCIFIT this year will stage themed forums, signing ceremonies for key projects, and activities for investment and trade. 

The 2023 CCI-ILSTC International Cooperation Forum will discuss the leading role of digitization in the development of ILSTC. The forum invites officials, business representatives, prominent experts, and well-known scholars from countries along the corridor to deliver speeches.

The"Invest in China" Western Region Promotion Event will bridge foreign-invested enterprises with West China for exchange and cooperation. 105 multinational companies from more than 10 countries and over 200 guests have been invited to join the event.
