2022 Smart China Expo to Open in August

The 2022 Smart China Expo (SCE) will be held on 22-24 August in southwest China's Chongqing Municipality, featuring both online and offline venues. Under the theme of“Smart Technology: Empowering Economy, Enriching Life”, the expo this year will focus on the annual topic of“smart city”.

Conferences, exhibitions, contests, forums, and featured activities will take place during SCE this year. Conferences, including the opening ceremony, summit meetings, and panel discussions will inviteNobel laureates, Turing Award winners, and prominent experts and entrepreneurs. Exhibitions feature eight pavilions and six exhibition areas, with more than 550 entities participating. 20 forums and 10 national or branded contests will be staged, including i-VISTA Autonomous Vehicle Grand Challenge. In terms of features activities, more than 120 launching ceremonies will be held online and offline, and signing ceremonies of major projects will also take place.

SCE has been actively connecting Shanghai Cooperation Organization (SCO) member countries and Chinese provinces since its firstly held in 2018, by carrying out various activities such as forums, contests, launching ceremonies, and investment promotion activities. It has facilitated the implementation of new technologies, new scenarios, and new applications, and has contributed to investment projects settling down in Chongqing. Driven by the SCE, Chongqing sees year-on-year growth of 16% in the digital economy.
