On March 14, Chongqing Dangdai Lifan Football Club announced that Bolaños, a Shanghai Shenhua FC player, will join the club on a one-year loan.

According to the introduction of Chongqing Dangdai Lifan Football Club, born on June 1, 1990 in Esmeraldas, Ecuador, Bolaños is a 170cm tall player who can play in various positions in the midfield. He started his career in 2006 with the Ecuadorian side Barcelona SC and has since played in the top leagues of Ecuador for Barcelona SC, Quito University, Chivas USA and Emelec.

Bolaños made a mid-season move to Shanghai Greenland Shenhua in the 2020 CSL season, making four appearances and scoring three goals. During his time as an Ecuadorian international, Bolaños made 25 appearances for the Ecuadorian national team and scored 8 goals.
